My dear fellow IMA colleagues
Time flies very fast and yet another year comes to an end.
As we all take time to reflect on 2021 and shape the year ahead, I wanted to thank each one of you for your steady membership, support, encouragement and even criticism.
Like me, I am sure you all have observed many ups and downs, acquired new knowledge, achieved new milestones and most importantly we all failed - one way or the other. Learning from our failures is important. As we delve into memories of this year, let's leave behind a few vices and take forward 1-3 or even more positive things in 2022.
Reflecting on the IMA Swiss Chapter's trajectory in 2021, in spite of all COVID-19 restrictions, we have managed to organize a number of interesting events. For me, the in-person event at IMD Lausanne was a milestone. Learning and engaging together brought us all new energy. I was humbled to see the commitment of many who traveled from Geneva, Berne, Fribourg, Zug & Zurich to be there. For those who could not make it, please read about it in this newsletter. Our success in other avenues is largely owed to our active members, who make valuable contributions to our website and LinkedIn page. Celebrating your success and your experiences there made our digital presence rich. I am certain our fellow members would have found them inspiring.
As you all recharge and reboot for 2022, please bring bountiful willingness and desire to continue your journey in the IMA world. It could be passing your CMA or CSCA exam, getting new knowledge in the management accounting world via CPE, expanding your network through our Chapter events or publishing your article in the Chapter Newsletter & LinkedIn page. The IMA Swiss Chapter Board remains committed to support its members and further develop our Chapter.
To close, sharing my own tradition - Each year, I pause briefly in the last week to prepare my top To-Do List for the following year. This includes both business and personal. I never put more than 5 goals on it. I always make them S.M.A.R.T. When I open this list a year later it has the treasure of my achievements - This is my present to myself . As you all sit down to write down your goals for 2022, I wish you are able to achieve those. I look forward to sharing and celebrating your successes and learnings.
I wish all our members and their families to stay safe, healthy and happy during this holiday season.
Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year,
President, IMA Switzerland Chapter
